LLM API Cost Calculator
Calculate API costs for AI/LLM projects across providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google with preset scenarios.
The LLM API Cost Calculator compares prices of current language models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta and other providers. Enter input and output tokens with a multiplier, and the tool sorts models by total cost. Prices are fetched live from OpenRouter.
How it works
- Pick one of the six use cases (e.g. product description, blog article, customer support) or enter custom token values and a multiplier.
- Filter by provider, minimum context window size and features like JSON mode, structured output or image support.
- Compare models in the results list, sorted by total, input or output price.
How to read the cost comparison
Each model shows three values: input cost, output cost and the total. Input tokens are typically cheaper than output tokens. For tasks with a long context (e.g. data analysis) input costs dominate; for text generation output costs do.
The context window slider filters out models that cannot handle enough tokens for your task. The feature filters help when you need JSON mode, structured outputs or image inputs.
FAQ
Where do the prices come from?
The tool fetches prices live from the OpenRouter API. If the connection fails, it falls back to stored prices. The date of the last update shows above the results.
What does the multiplier mean?
The multiplier is how many times you run the task. For 1,000 product descriptions with 200 input and 300 output tokens each, the tool multiplies the per-call cost by 1,000.
Which providers are included?
By default the tool shows OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Meta. The "Others" filter adds models from Mistral, DeepSeek, xAI and other providers available on OpenRouter.
