Keyword Density Calculator
Counts occurrences & % for tokens or n-grams in pasted text.
The Keyword Density Calculator counts how often individual words or multi-word phrases appear in your text and shows the frequency as a percentage. Switch between single words, 2-word and 3-word n-grams and toggle stop word filtering.
How it works
- Paste your text into the input field.
- Set the n-gram size (1, 2 or 3 words), choose a minimum frequency and decide whether to include or exclude stop words.
- Click "Analyze Keyword Density". The results table shows the top 50 terms with count and density percentage.
How to read the density results
Keyword density tells you how often a term appears relative to the total word count. The tool flags values above 3% in red because search engines may treat that as unnatural repetition. Between 1% and 2% a term is present without standing out.
The n-gram feature catches multi-word phrases that a single-word analysis misses. A 2-gram like "running costs" would not show up in a one-word view. The stop word filter hides filler words like "the", "and", "in" so the relevant terms rise to the top.
FAQ
What is a good keyword density?
There is no fixed target. The tool marks values above 3% as potentially problematic. In practice a text reads naturally when the main keyword sits between 1% and 2%.
What are n-grams?
N-grams are word groups of a specific length. At n=2 the tool counts every consecutive two-word combination. This helps you find phrases like "content strategy" that disappear in a single-word analysis.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved.
